Professor Steve Baskerville
With 16 years experience as an academic manager operating at Board level, Professor Steve Baskerville has managed a wide-ranging portfolio of executive responsibilities before leaving De Montfort University (DMU) to start his own higher education consultancy business.
Steve was responsible for the University’s international strategy and the formulation of its programmes for skills and workforce development.
In the international arena, he has had extensive experience of working in India, South Africa and Malaysia and was one of two UK representatives on a panel reviewing applications for collaborative awards under the UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI).
In the UK, he has served as the governor of a large further education college and as a board member of the NHS Workforce Development Confederation for Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland, and from 2006 to 2008 represented the East Midlands Universities Association (EMUA) on the Regional Skills Partnership. He was also Vice-Chair of the East Midland New Technologies Initiative (NTI) and a long-serving member of the Leicester Partnership.
As a consultant, his goal is to help universities and their partners develop effective working relationships, and to use his professional experience to help them achieve their core strategic aims.
